• EPCs must have executed solar projects (1 MW+) in the past 7 years, with one of the following:
– One project ≥ 2 MW capacity, OR
– Two projects ≥ 1 MW each, OR
– Three projects ≥ 600 kW each
• Net worth of the bidder must be ≥ ₹5 crore, with average annual turnover ≥ ₹10 crore.
• Must have a positive net worth.
• Average annual turnover should be ≥ ₹10 crore in the last 3 years.
• Failure to submit the technical bid leads to rejection.
Strategic Significance
• Government-backed SJVN, as a “Maharatna” enterprise, renewables presence in areas traditionally dependent on fossil fuels is crucial for India’s energy transition.
• 3 MW solar capacity addition aligns with 500 GW+ national RE target. SJVN targets long-term performance and sustained green power supply.
• RESCO model ensures no upfront capital investment by Union Government departments.
• Reduces dependence on conventional sources, lowers carbon emissions by 3,000+ tonnes annually.
Expected Outcomes
• Adds 3 MW of green energy in Government buildings.
• Annual CO2 emission reduction: Approx. 3,000 tonnes (equivalent to 3,700+ trees).
• Ensures cheaper, reliable electricity supply.
• Supports India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) with 40% electricity from renewables.
• Enhances EPC/O&M players’ credibility in the Northern RE market.
