How to Analyze Adani Green Energy’s Q1 FY26 Profit Surge

Ahmedabad, July 28, 2025 — Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), India’s largest
renewable energy company, has reported a sharp rise in quarterly profit on the back of record
capacity expansion and higher power supply revenue.
The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹824 crore for Q1 FY26, compared to
₹629 crore in the same period last year. Total income grew to ₹4,006 crore, with power
supply revenue climbing 31% to ₹3,312 crore.
AGEL’s operational capacity reached 15,816 MW as of June 30, 2025, up from 10,934 MW
a year earlier — marking one of the fastest growth rates in India’s renewable sector. Finance
costs rose to ₹1,525 crore and depreciation expenses increased to ₹767 crore, reflecting the
rapid expansion of assets.
During the quarter, AGEL raised ₹6,024 crore through conversion of preferential warrants
by the promoter group, using the funds for debt repayment, subsidiary investments, and
general corporate purposes.
The company also addressed ongoing U.S. Department of Justice and SEC inquiries
involving certain directors, stating that independent legal reviews found no violations or
irregularities and confirmed no material impact on business operations.
Shares of AGEL moved higher after the results, as investors welcomed the profit growth and
aggressive capacity expansion.
