Blueleaf Energy and Chemsain: A New Era in Solar Power

ENERGY STORAGE

In Short : In order to investigate the construction of up to 3 GW of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Sarawak, Malaysia, Blueleaf Energy and Chemsain Sustainability have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership is a major step toward hastening the region’s implementation of renewable infrastructure.

Driving the Energy Transition in Malaysia

The partners will use Blueleaf Energy’s worldwide experience in finance and project development and Chemsain’s extensive local regulatory knowledge to manage site selection, grid integration, permits, technical planning, and stakeholder engagement under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding. The partnership is designed to help Sarawak’s Post-Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).

Clean Energy for Economic Growth

This project goes beyond producing electricity. By supporting regional sustainability goals, the enterprises hope to promote industrial growth and employment creation in the area. The project aims to enhance Sarawak’s standing as a clean energy hub and provide comprehensive, long-term value by integrating solar and storage infrastructure with socioeconomic frameworks.

About the Collaboration

Large-scale solar, wind, and energy storage systems across Asia have been developed, financed, owned, and operated by Blueleaf Energy, a Macquarie-backed pan-Asian renewables platform. With its roots in Sarawak, Chemsain Sustainability guides the integration of energy projects by combining environmental planning, ESG advising, and local compliance experience. Together, they create a powerful partnership that combines local knowledge with global reach to facilitate the regional energy transformation.
