FEATURED

In Short : In a performance-based agreement with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) established a challenging revenue target of ₹8,200 crore for FY2025-26. This improves on IREDA’s impressive performance in FY2024–25, when the agency reported ₹6,743 crore in revenue, despite aiming for ₹5,957 crore.

Encouraging Strategic Development and Responsibility

Strict criteria pertaining to financial and operational measures, such as return on net worth, return on capital invested, asset turnover, EBITDA, and the NPA-to-loan ratio, are included in the MOU. The objectives of these actions are to guarantee openness in IREDA’s governance, increase efficiency, and promote financial discipline.

Impact and Significance of Clean Energy

Reaching this revenue target will enable IREDA, a major source of funding for energy-efficiency and renewable energy projects throughout India, to expand its influence. Increased finance capacity empowers more clean tech, solar, and wind projects, propelling India’s shift to a more environmentally friendly future.
