Gentari and Gamuda Partner

How to Achieve 5.2 GW Solar Manufacturing by FY27

FEATURED

In Short : Under Malaysia’s Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS), Gentari (via Gentari Renewables) and Gamuda Energy have partnered to construct a historic 1.5 GW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant that is combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Advancing Malaysia’s Renewable and Digital Development

By 2035, hyperscale data centers are expected to require more than 5 GW of dependable power, and the project intends to meet their fast expanding electrical needs. Through this collaboration, Malaysia will be positioned as a regional leader in green energy for its digital economy, combining Gentari’s experience in developing renewable energy with Gamuda’s strong engineering and infrastructure execution capabilities.

Impact and Significance of Clean Energy

The project strengthens Malaysia’s position as a hub for digital infrastructure while hastening the country’s shift to sustainable energy sources by implementing solar power with battery storage. It functions as a reproducible model for incorporating renewable energy sources into industries with high demand, like cloud platforms, digital services, and data centers.

About the Partners
