Global Green Hydrogen

How to Achieve India’s 10% Green Hydrogen Goal by 2030

FEATURED INDIA

In Short : India aimed to secure over 10% of the global green hydrogen market, which is expected to reach over 100 million metric tonnes by 2030, at the FICCI Green Hydrogen Summit 2025. The government has given 19 businesses 862,000 tons of green hydrogen production capacity annually to help achieve this goal, while 15 businesses have been given 3,000 MW of electrolyser manufacturing capacity.

Developing the Ecosystem of Green Hydrogen

India is putting itself in a position to be a major producer and exporter of green hydrogen in addition to being a consumer. The government is promoting domestic capabilities, from production to electrolyser manufacturing, through programs under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This momentum is a result of a determined effort to construct low-carbon, future-ready infrastructure.

Global Coherence and Financial Sustainability

According to industry executives, green hydrogen is quickly gaining cost competitiveness and occasionally outperforming blue hydrogen in tender results. India’s energy transition on the world scene is at a turning point thanks to its expanding economic advantage and improved international cooperation, most recently with the EU.

Impact and Significance of Clean Energy

India is making a daring move toward deep decarbonization by aiming for a 10% share of the global green hydrogen market, particularly in areas where electrification is insufficient. In addition to promoting sustainable industrial scale-up, increasing domestic output and establishing international partnerships strengthens energy security, industrial competitiveness, and climate resilience.
