In Short : The Decentralized Renewable Energy for Women’s Empowerment (DEWEE) Program was started by the Yogi Adityanath government to train women in renewable energy and allied disciplines with the goal of producing one lakh female entrepreneurs by 2030.
Encouraging Innovation and Strategic Growth
The program’s main goal is to train women, particularly those who belong to self-help groups (SHGs), in decentralized renewable energy solutions, EV charging infrastructure, and solar panel installation. Twenty districts in Uttar Pradesh will be involved in the implementation of this initiative.
Maintaining Equity While Developing Technological Capabilities
The DEWEE initiative aims to encourage women’s economic independence by offering chances for skill development, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurship. In order for women to actively engage in the state’s transition to renewable energy, the administration wants to establish a sustainable ecosystem.
Impact and Significance of Clean Energy
In addition to helping women entrepreneurs, the program advances India’s sustainable energy initiative. The state’s goal of sustainable growth while lowering carbon emissions is in line with increased emphasis on green technologies and EV uptake.
About the Program
The Uttar Pradesh government’s flagship program, DEWEE, aims to combine the growth of renewable energy with the empowerment of women. By 2030, it aims to have 1 lakh women entrepreneurs, promoting social justice and long-term economic expansion in the state.
