In Short : India’s capacity to manufacture solar modules under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) has formally surpassed 100 GW, marking a significant increase from just 2.3 GW in 2014. The Minister of New and Renewable Energy congratulated this accomplishment and pointed out that the number of accredited manufacturers has increased fivefold, from 21 in 2021 to 100 now, distributed among 123 manufacturing units.

An additional 8,797 MW of manufacturing capacity under ALMM was recently granted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, bringing the total to 100,232 MW. Major developers have quickly increased their footprints: Goldi Solar substantially increased production by 2,675 MW to reach 7,263 MW, Citizen Solar added 48 MW, and Adani Solar’s Mundra project got 243 MW.
