In Short : The Solar Energy Corporation of India has granted Oriana Power Limited a Letter of Award (LOA) under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A, Tranche-I). Under the terms of the contract, 60,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia will be produced and supplied annually at a price of ₹52.25 per kilogram, or ₹313.5 crore annually, for a period of ten years.
Boosting India’s Green Hydrogen Initiative
The project encourages the expansion of green ammonia production for industrial use and is in line with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission. Under the Mission’s plan, an additional incentive of ₹127 crore is planned for the first three years, bolstering the clean energy value chain and promoting sustainable fuel ecosystems.
Financial Momentum and Stock Performance
Investor morale spiked after the news, and Oriana Power’s stock increased by more than 4% during the day on a wave of excitement. With revenues up 74% and net profits up 124% from FY25’s first half, the company’s impressive H2 success is clear.
