In Short : After project commissioning and regulatory approvals, India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) and Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd (TEECL) have finalized an agreement for the purchase of the Northeast India NERES XVI Power Transmission project for a maximum of ₹460 crore. IndiGrid’s position in the area is strengthened by the agreement.
Encouraging Strategic Growth
The project includes a 400/220/132 kV substation with 1,400 MVA transformation capability and a 45 km double-circuit transmission line, located near IndiGrid’s current assets. In order to strengthen a reliable working relationship, TEECL will carry out development and EPC work while IndiGrid assumes responsibility for post-commercial operations.
Impact and Significance of Clean Energy
Power stability is improved and renewable energy integration is supported by expanding the transmission infrastructure in Northeast India’s difficult terrain. By improving connectivity and distribution resilience, the new line would directly support India’s shift to sustainable energy in rural areas.
