OMEGA SEIKI MOBILITY: PIONEERING EV ASSEMBLY IN THE UAE

ELECTRIC VEHICLE

In Short : By the end of the year, Omega Seiki Mobility hopes to have its first overseas electric vehicle (EV) assembly factory up and running in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). Targeting the Middle Eastern and African markets, the facility will function as a major center for the manufacture, storage, and distribution of two- and three-wheelers.

Middle East Strategic Expansion
Over the course of five years, a $25 million US investment will be used to create the 42,000-square-foot complex in Jafza. Omega Seiki Mobility wants to reach more than 2 billion customers by taking use of Dubai’s logistical links. Additionally, it is anticipated that the facility would create over 100 jobs in its first phase, which will help the company achieve its goal of effectively expanding clean mobility solutions throughout international markets.

Product Portfolio and Future Outlook
Omega Seiki produces a variety of EVs domestically, such as electric scooters, mopeds, trucks, and three-wheelers. The company intends to introduce a nine-meter low-floor electric bus soon, however the precise models going to the Jafza factory have not yet been revealed. The bus includes a powerful 190 kW motor and a 195 kWh NMC battery pack capable of 0–80% charge in under 30 minutes, with a predicted range of 200 km. The company has set a lofty target to take 40% of the electric bus market in India.

Impact and Significance of Clean Energy
Omega Seiki is lowering emissions related to long-distance shipping and facilitating the faster deployment of EVs overseas by extending manufacturing into Dubai, thereby increasing accessibility and localization of green mobility. This subsequent action is in line with more general energy transition objectives and shows how focused industrial growth can spur a more widespread adoption of clean, renewable transportation options worldwide.
