In Short : For developers interested in setting up 3,850 kW grid-connected rooftop solar PV projects under the RESCO mode (RTSPV-Tranche-I), the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has set up a pre-bid meeting. In order to increase rooftop solar adoption throughout India, the program would be implemented through tariff-based competitive bidding.
Accelerating the Growth of Rooftop Solar
The purpose of the pre-bid conference, which is set for September 3, 2025, at 2:30 PM IST, is to provide solar developers with clarification on the project’s scope, financial models, and technical specifications. Selected developers will own, run, and maintain rooftop solar systems under the RESCO model, selling power to customers and guaranteeing an affordable supply of renewable energy.
Impact and Significance of Clean Energy
SECI is empowering players in India’s renewable energy sector by promoting competitive bidding and increasing the use of rooftop solar. This program directly supports India’s solar capacity targets while improving energy security, lowering emissions, and promoting broad involvement in clean energy transitions.
About SECI
The main organization in charge of carrying out solar and renewable energy projects nationwide is the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a Government of India corporation housed inside the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). In order to support India’s transition to clean energy, SECI actively supports projects involving rooftop solar, utility-scale solar, wind-solar hybrids, energy storage, and green hydrogen.
