In Short : A 150 MW/300 MWh grid-forming shared energy storage facility in Yongde, Yunnan Province, has been put into service by Sineng Electric. It is the first grid-forming shared storage facility in the area and has been steadily operating for more than two months, bolstering clean energy infrastructure and renewable integration.
Encouraging Innovation and Strategic Growth
Based on Sineng’s cutting-edge 1250 kW grid-forming PCS, the project includes a 5 MW central PCS MV Turnkey Station with booster integration. This technology provides dependable performance in harsh working situations, smooth grid connection and disconnection, and dynamic power support at the millisecond level.
The facility supports Yunnan’s clean energy development goals, improves grid resilience, and mitigates swings brought on by high renewable penetration thanks to its hybrid grid-forming design.
Impact and Significance of Clean Energy
In order to provide a dependable and effective sustainable energy supply, the Yunnan shared storage plant provides essential grid functions like voltage stability, frequency management, and peak shaving. It supports China’s long-term shift to sustainable and green power systems by setting the standard for large-scale renewable storage projects in the country.
