In Short : Under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0), bids are being accepted for 16 GW of decentralized ground-mounted solar projects by Maharashtra State Electricity Board Solar Agro Power (MSAPL), a division of MSEB Holding Company.
Supporting the Expansion of Strategic Clean Energy
With MSKVY 2.0, developers can run solar PV plants in RESCO mode throughout farming districts, which is in line with PM-KUSUM’s feeder-level solarization component. The plan intends to increase the state’s renewable capacity on a big scale while fortifying rural energy infrastructure.
Impact and Significance of Clean Energy
If this 16 GW capacity is successfully implemented, it will strengthen the clean power supply in rural areas, drastically reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and position Maharashtra as a leader in India’s green energy transition.
About the Plan
Building on the previous MSKVY phase, which was implemented under PM-KUSUM, MSKVY 2.0 aims to achieve feeder-level solarization using decentralized solar assets based on RESCOs. MSAPL guarantees efficient coordination and execution throughout the plan.
