In Short : VinFast, a Vietnamese manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs), has submitted design patent applications in India for two new models from its “Green” series: the small Minio Green hatchback and the seven-seater MPV, the Limo Green. This patent action suggests a more comprehensive plan to broaden and strengthen its position in the Indian EV industry.
Minio Green: Reimagined Urban Mobility
Designed for city driving, the Minio Green is a small electric hatchback with three doors. Its length is roughly 3.09 meters, and its design is simple yet contemporary. With its compact size, this vehicle is specifically designed for city people and may pose a direct threat to products like the MG Comet EV. VinFast’s intention to join the Indian micro-EV market is shown by its local patent application.
Limo Green: Roomy EV for Fleets and Families
The Limo Green, a full-sized, seven-seater MPV that VinFast has classified as a “service vehicle,” follows a different path. It is designed for fleet service or family use. The model offers SUV-inspired size and durability while maintaining the same design DNA as its VF6 and VF7 SUVs. With its recent delivery in Vietnam, the patent in India suggests VinFast may introduce an electric multi-passenger option ideal for ride-sharing or large households.
Impact of Clean Energy
VinFast is expanding access to electric mobility for a wider range of consumer groups by expanding its EV selection beyond SUVs into small hatchbacks and roomy MPVs. By encouraging clean transportation options and assisting India’s energy transition and climate change objectives, these models can hasten the adoption of EVs by both fleet operators and urban passengers.
